How We Review

What we actually do

We’re a research-first publication, not a testing lab. Nobody here pretends to have run 47 email campaigns through every platform. Here’s the honest version of our process:

1. Official sources first. Every price, plan limit, and feature claim starts at the vendor’s own pricing page and documentation — not at another affiliate site’s copy of it.

2. Independent cross-checking. Vendor pages are marketing. We check their claims against user reviews (G2, Capterra, Trustpilot), creator communities (Reddit, Indie Hackers), and competing reviews to catch the spin — the capped “unlimited” plan, the feature that’s technically included but unusable.

3. Real cost math. “Best” usually comes down to money. We calculate what a realistic stack actually costs per month — including the second and third subscriptions most comparisons conveniently forget.

4. Drawbacks in every review. If a product has no listed downsides on our page, we did a bad job. Every review includes who should skip it.

5. Kept current. SaaS pricing changes constantly. We re-verify pricing quarterly and update posts when plans change.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t claim hands-on testing we haven’t done.
  • Vendors can’t pay for placement, better verdicts, or removed criticism.
  • Commissions never influence rankings — our affiliate relationships are disclosed on every page that has them (see our Affiliate Disclosure).
